Case Study: Remote Access

^

Customer Request

An engineering firm representing a small oil and gas producer was tasked with abandoning eight wells in Northeastern Alberta. These wells, ranging in depth from 650 to 1,000 meters with a mix of both 60.3mm Jointed Tubing and 60.3mm Coiled Tubing strings were located across a large area with severely degraded roadways. The customer required a remote access solution to avoid the high costs associated with constructing temporary ice roads. Their objective was to execute safe and efficient well abandonments while minimizing environmental impact and logistical challenges.

Solution

Team Snubbing Services provided a fully integrated remote access snubbing package utilizing equipment that could be flown into site with the use of a Bell 212 Helicopter. Our highly trained crew mobilized the unit with minimal surface footprint, enabling operations to proceed in conditions where conventional rig access was not feasible.

We were able to pump and kill the wells; remove the tubing strings and assist with wireline operations to set and test the required bridge plugs.

The modular design of the unit, with loads under 3000lbs and logistics planning allowed rapid deployment exceeding customer expectations for safety, speed, and reliability.
